How to take care of your eyes daily?
• UV-rays from the sun can have significant dangerous effects on our eyes over prolonged exposure.
• UV rays can affect our central vision, damaging the macula, which is main visual part of the retina in the back of the eye.
• Several diseases and sight problems can result from exposure to the sun like macular degeneration, cataract, pterygium, corneal sunburn and skin cancer.
• So one should wear sunglasses which block harmful UV-rays, to stay safe from the adverse effects caused by them.
Have a Healthy Diet
For a Healthy Eye, Eat Healthy.
Some nutrients like zinc, betacarotene ,omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamins C and E are beneficial for you to maintain healthy sight as you get older.They may help to prevent age-related vision problems like cataracts and macular degeneration. A well-balanced eye diet can help you to stay at a healthy weight, lowering your cholesterol ,decrease obesity issues and type 2 diabetes and other diseases that can cause vision problems.
Some of the foods for healthy eyes to include in your diet are:
• Fish
• Eggs
• Green leafy vegetables
Avoid Smoking
• Smoking is really bad for not only your overall health, but also very harmful for your eyes.
• Various eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome can be caused by smoking.
• In fact, smoking is so bad for your health that heavy smokers are three times more likely to get cataracts than non-smokers.
• So avoid cigarettes and smoking in your daily life, to have healthy eyes and suffer no health issues.
Reduce Eye Strain
Viewing at a computer or mobile screen for too long can cause discomfort known as “digital eye strain” that includes such symptoms as:
1. blurry vision,
2. trouble focusing at a distance,
3. dry eyes,
4. headaches.
This is known as “computer vision syndrome”.Follow the 20 -20 -20 rule.
